2008

2008 - Furano, Japan

We returned to the exciting city of Furano in northern Japan in 2008.The snow quality, empty runs, lack of lift queues and friendly local town folk made this a very easy choice for a second year visit.

We hosted our largest group ever (19 in total) and the skier levels ranged from extremely advanced to absolute first-time beginners. We also introduced a full "swap day" where all of the skiers went to snowboards for the day with some very funny results.

Karaoke madness hit the 2008 tour as did a hilarious fancy-dress party, with one person wearing his costume onto the snow the next day (nice one Flicka). The dreaded Ronshon drink (75% alcohol by volume) also made a re-appearance and had a nasty impact on everyone who dared to toy with it - several sore heads the next day!

Off snow activites like snow-mobiling and a tradtional onsen vist (for an entire afternoon) made this trip one to remember.

Super congratulations to Ollie Evans for taking home the coveted King of the Mountain cup - well done!
